Cupping Therapy

Relieving tension, supporting rehab, and helping muscles move freely again.

Cupping is a gentle but effective soft tissue technique I use in practice, especially when dealing with muscle tightness, postural imbalances, and stubborn areas of discomfort. It works by using suction cups to gently lift the skin and underlying tissue—creating space, encouraging blood flow, and helping the body release built-up tension.

Most commonly, I use cupping to help:

-
Reduce muscle stiffness in the upper back, neck, and shoulders
-
Relieve tightness in the low back, hips, and legs
-
Support rehab in painful or overworked areas
-
Address postural dysfunction, especially patterns like upper and lower cross syndrome, where muscle groups are either too tight or too weak
-

Cupping can be part of a broader treatment plan alongside adjustments, muscle release, and rehab exercises. It’s not painful (though you might feel a strong pull) and many patients say it feels like a deep, relieving stretch. Some circular marks may appear after, but they’re usually painless and fade within a few days.
If you’ve been dealing with chronic tension or movement restrictions, cupping might be a great tool to help reset and release.
